Bidvest domestic and international lounges can be found throughout all the major South African airports including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, George and East London.
With the slogan “Everybody’s Lounge”, these lounges are available to all individual travellers and groups, no matter what class of ticket you hold. So whether you’re travelling in First Class, Business or Economy, you’ll be able to relax and unwind in these lounges away from the hustle and bustle of the airport.
Bidvest have long standing relationships with various airlines and corporate clients, such as Diners Club, Absa Private Bank, Investec Private Bank and Priority Pass, so if you’re a cardholder of one of these organisations, it’s quite possible you’ll have complimentary access to the Bidvest lounges. Alternatively you can pay cash and show up on the day or book online, paying a fee to use the lounge. The online rate at Johannesburg O.R Tambo International is R289.00 and you can enter three hours before your departure time.
Location
The Bidvest Premier Lounge at Terminal A is located airside on the upper mezzanine level of international departures. It’s open 24 hours and is accessible via an escalator or stairs.
Interior
The interior is mainly cream with dark mahogany wood furnishings and burgundy chairs. Floors are tiled in the eating areas, while the relaxation areas have beige carpets. While the decor isn’t thrilling, the lounge is very spacious, with lots of separate seating areas.
Facilities
Facilities include showers, razor connections, towels, shampoo and body soap so passengers can shower and freshen up before the flight. The lounge also has a view of the apron, baby changing facilities, flat screen TVs and a smoking room. Guests can enjoy complimentary light meals and snacks, beverages, newspapers and magazines, plus there’s free Wi-Fi available.
Dining
For a third party lounge, the Bidvest lounge has a decent selection of food and drink, with a few hot selections, as well as sandwiches, snacks, cakes and muffins. You can help yourself to beers and a selection of south African wines from the fridge, or pour yourself something stronger from the bar area. There are a few spirits available, as well as juices, tea and a coffee machine. Food is also self-service, buffet style.
