American Airlines was the first U.S airline to order and take delivery of the B777-300ER, with a view to offering additional network flexibility, as well as providing increased efficiency due to better seat mile economics and performance characteristics. The carrier ordered a total of 10 B777-300ERs with deliveries beginning in December 2012, announcing Sao Paulo as the first route to feature this newest addition.
Routes
The American Airlines 777-300ER currently flies from Dallas/Fort Worth to London Heathrow and Sao Paulo, from Los Angeles to London Heathrow, and from New York JFK to London Heathrow and Sao Paulo.
The Cabin
Customers are welcomed into the aircraft by unique mood lighting and there’s an overall feeling of spaciousness thanks to American’s dramatic archway and ceiling treatment. A walk-up bar stocked with snacks and refreshments adds a unique element of luxury to the premium cabin, and the First Class features an updated version of the popular Flagship suite.
Rows 1 and 2 of the B777-300ER feature the AA First Class suites, configured in a 1-2-1 layout, meaning each First Class passenger has direct aisle access. In total there are just 8 First Class seats.
The Seat
American’s signature Flagship Suite seat transforms into fully lie-flat 6-foot, 8-inch bed with drop-down armrests for easier access and more sleeping space. With privacy dividers, two universal AC power outlets, two large tray tables and a swivel seat, each First Class suite can be turned into an office in the sky. When it’s time to sleep, upgraded closed toe slippers and an additional pillow make for an altogether more comfortable First Class experience.
Entertainment
On-board the aircraft, passengers have access to international Wi-Fi, as well as individual 110-volt AC power outlets and USB ports for charging personal electronics. In First Class the 17-inch touchscreen in-seat entertainment system features up to 250 movies, more than 180 TV programs and more than 350 audio selections. Bose® QuietComfort® 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headsets offered in flight
